Develop a high-speed algorithm to efficiently identify droplets from images captured by cameras in a lithography machine based on MATLAB, OpenCV, and Convolutional Neural Network. Devise an accurate optical transition model to calculate and evaluate density distribution of the target based on calculated shadowgraphs.

The military invests millions of dollars into unmanned ground vehicles, and of course they would, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) save lives simply by removing personnel from hazardous environments. However, the price of UGVs  hover around $50,000. This places a significant constraint on the magnitude of deployable UGVs.

Medication usage has become increasingly common for people around the world. Many are forced to adhere to a strict intake schedule in order to ensure optimum effectiveness. Between busy schedules and forgetful tendencies, perfect medication use can become difficult. The Personal Automated Medication Assistant  (P.A.M.A.) aims to tackle this issue. It consists of a mobile application and an automated medication dispenser comprised of ten separate compartments for users to put their medications into.

Lithography is a process used to embed patterns onto the surface of a material. It is an integral step in manufacturing small scale technologies like integrated circuits or MEMS devices. Usually, this process requires the use of a reflective mask with the device pattern pre-engraved onto it. Our group, MyLigraphy, is developing a maskless lithography system that is more appropriate for situations where the use of a reflective mask is inefficient.

Hylev is a highly configurable research and testing platform for low power magnetic levitation. It uses a low-power, hybrid levitator consisting of a permanent magnet and electromagnetic coil to lift objects. The system’s configurability allows researchers to quickly swap out coils, permanent magnets, floating objects, and development boards to meet research needs. Open source and parameterized 3D models are also available to perform rapid prototyping.

Omnibot is a smart robot equipped with built-in route finding algorithms and motion controls that enable itself to guide it to any designated spots. The Omnibot can function smoothly in any scenario as long as it was provided with the digitized map knowledge of the functioning scenarios. Meanwhile, Omnibot is also equipped with smart solutions when it comes to path restoration and maneuvering over potential roadblocks to cope with the messy reality of a warehouse or other case scenarios.

We are developing a device that allows a guitarist to pair their guitar to any common bluetooth speaker and play in realtime. The battery powered device fits into a 3D printed mold that is velcro attached to the instrument. A touchscreen interface allows the guitarist to seamlessly pair to their desired bluetooth speaker, adjust volume, and apply various audio effects.

You live in a world where important decisions about your loved ones are subject to the accuracy of a single device. A variety of infrared thermometers and thermal imaging cameras are used in doctors’ offices, and require continual upkeep when their warranties expire. These devices are calibrated once at the factory, and in some cases, never again. This can be an alarming situation when the measurements of these devices influence a doctor’s decision. We provide a low-cost product that will prevent a child’s fever from going untreated by reducing error in thermal imaging devices.

Programmable Logic Controller is an industrial computer that is used for controlling automation manufacturing processes or any automation systems. However, they are often expensive and require a decent amount of learning process. PiLC’s goal is to develop a low-cost PLC using a Raspberry pi 4 as the core and a touch screen monitor to display the Human Machine Interface, allowing an effortless environment to interact with the hardware.

Autonomous vehicles increasingly play an important role in daily life. The Neutronomous car is a practical and affordable application of autonomous driving technology, putting real-time sensing and control in a one-tenth scale body ideal for food and package delivery across college campuses and small towns. A LiDAR scan works with our simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm to tell the car where it is, and our trajectory planning algorithm uses an occupancy grid map to determine the car’s path in an environment with obstacles.
