Northrop Grumman Innovations Systems (NGIS) needs to visually monitor their space systems while undergoing extreme environmental testing. These systems need to be tested for the conditions in space to ensure proper functionality and observe system performance. Due to the extreme temperature testing conditions, our team has developed an aluminum camera enclosure to protect the camera used for viewing inside NGIS thermal chambers.

Northrop Grumman Corporation is an American global aerospace and defense technology company that must test a wide variety of electrical components to ensure mission success. Part of the testing process requires transporting the components across the Northrop Campus to various testing sites which can be over a mile away. Often times the testing widows can be missed due to unreliable transport vessels which costs Northrop both time and money.

In response to a rapidly evolving global security environment, the United States Navy wishes to turn to robotics to rapidly expand its operational capacity and supplement the human workforce aboard their ships. However, the interior of a warship presents a very challenging environment for robots to navigate. A shipboard robot must be able to reliably open watertight doors, climb stairs at a 60 degree incline, weave through tight corridors, and perform its designated tasks, even under difficult sea conditions.
