Electric passenger flight is one of the most exciting, disruptive, and new technologies on the verge of coming to market. With electric passenger flight, we have the potential to reduce emissions and increase comfort to hundreds of millions of airline passengers across the world, not to mention, foster substantial growth in terms of profitability and efficiency for the world’s largest airlines.

When using a loudspeaker indoors, the walls and ceilings create a sustained, reverberant sound field that distributes sound evenly and creates an encompassing listening experience. Outdoors, the lack of this sound field causes a significant decline in the loudspeaker’s tonal quality. For this project, we will explore how accurately we can estimate the position of a listener or group of listener(s) relative to an outdoor loudspeaker to improve the listening experience for these listeners.

Arthroscout is a tool classification software that utilizes image processing and machine learning methods to detect and classify the types of tools used in the arthroscopic surgery. An arthroscopic surgery, also known as "the keyhole surgery", is an operation where surgeons examine and treat a joint by inserting an arthroscope, a pencil-sized instrument equipped with a miniature camera. On average, each orthopedic surgeon performs about 300 to 500 arthroscopies each year.

The goal of the Altair ZenPad is to create a massage experience that can be controlled remotely by an application on a user’s phone or tablet. The massage pad will be wireless, rechargeable, and portable to allow storage with ease. The user will be able to control the 8x6 array of motors on the user interface either through a pre-programmed library of massages or by personally selecting blocks of motors which will activate in real time.

Planes have been relying on fossil fuels for far too long now; it’s time for aerospace to step forward and join the electric transit revolution. This hasn’t happened yet because current batteries weigh too much. One advanced type of battery that is being researched has a potential for significantly higher energy densities, but these batteries require rigorous management systems adapted to their unique needs.

Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, increasingly preferred by medical professionals and patients due to its advantages over traditional open surgery. Arthroscopic operations are performed 2 million times per year worldwide, and 750,000 times per year in the U.S. alone. During arthroscopy, the surgeon makes 3 small incisions into a joint, inserting surgical tools and a tiny camera.

Non-contact optical thermometers are becoming increasingly important for both doctor's offices and at home use. However, these devices lose accuracy over time and can be inaccurate to up to ± 0.5 degrees Celsius.  These inaccuracies in a thermometer can potentially lead to a fever being misdiagnosed, which is often a symptom of a more serious, underlying disease.

With wireless communication evolving into the next generation, hardware and software needs to evolve along with it. Power amplifiers traditionally are limited in efficiency due to nonlinear properties. In operation, nonlinearity is analogous to the different lanes on a freeway. Transistors are designated to operate at specific frequencies, which would be their lane, and the nonlinearity causes out-of-band leaking, which would correspond to a car drifting out of their lane.
