We are constantly surrounded by noise. Whether it is the hum of traffic, the buzz of an open office, or the roar of an airplane cabin, unwanted sound has become an unavoidable part of daily life and a real barrier to focus, comfort, and long term hearing health. While passive ear cushions handle higher frequency sounds just fine, the low frequency noise below 2kHz that makes up much of what we encounter daily requires active electronic cancellation to suppress. Consumer headphones that offer this capability exist, but they come with a steep price tag that puts them out of reach for many people. TinyANC addresses this gap by developing a low cost noise canceling prototype on a custom chip, optimizing the balance between suppression performance and hardware cost to deliver meaningful cancellation without the premium expense.
