VANTAGE
Project Vantage is a camera housing developed in partnership with Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems. Designed to give engineers visual access to components during tests that replicate the thermal conditions of space, the housing protects the camera across extreme thermal ranges, conditions that would normally render commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) imaging systems inoperable.
The housing maintains a stable internal environment by automatically routing heated or chilled fluid through an internal copper heat exchanger and an external heater and chiller, keeping the camera protected regardless of external conditions. A vacuum-sealed sapphire window ensures optical clarity throughout, preventing frost and condensation accumulation over test durations.
With Project Vantage, engineers gain live visibility into hardware behavior during the most demanding phases of thermal qualification, eliminating a critical blind spot in the aerospace testing process.
