Xtreme CamClosure

Capture it all

Description

Northrop Grumman Innovations Systems (NGIS) needs to visually monitor their space systems while undergoing extreme environmental testing. These systems need to be tested for the conditions in space to ensure proper functionality and observe system performance. Due to the extreme temperature testing conditions, our team has developed an aluminum camera enclosure to protect the camera used for viewing inside NGIS thermal chambers. The Xtreme CamClosure utilizes insulation and phase change material technology to absorb the heat load at high temperatures and release heat at low temperatures in order to maintain the inside of the enclosure within the camera’s operating range. Our design includes a small window at the front of the enclosure for the camera and video and power cables pass through the back of the enclosure by means of cable glands, allowing charging and video output to a monitor.
