ATK Kinematic Mapping

Description

The goal of this project is to design and construct a measurement system that will allow Orbital ATK to evaluate the performance of its deployable array systems by tracking their motion. Currently, this is done by visual observation only. We propose to automate this process using computer tracking of marked points on the array structure, using a video feed provided by a conventional visible light camera. 

Working with Orbital ATK was exciting and enjoyable. Finding an accurate technology capable of meeting the required uncertainty and proving this was both exciting and challenging, due to the wide array of possibilities we could have pursued. Developing our project for a wide array of set-ups was also challenging.R
