The proposed project aims to create a smart glove that precisely tracks the movement of the hand to achieve two goals: render these movements into a 3D model, and smoothly control analog instruments using arbitrary hand gestures. The glove will utilize individual modules for each finger, each of which consist of a dedicated flex sensor and IMUs. The flex sensors will be used to track the angle between fingers, and the IMUs will be used to track the rotation of the base and tip of each finger. An additional IMU is located on the main unit for holistic hand movements and a built-in bluetooth module to transmit data wirelessly. Using the IMUs, the glove captures real-time rotational and positional data which is then processed by the software to accurately track the hand’s movements, position, and gestures.
