Bio

Skyler is a physicist and entrepreneur born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. His fascination with physics stems from a lifelong passion for science and its role in describing the universe. Before starting kindergarten, his eyes were already glued to the Discovery Channel, where he first developed a love for how the world works. Since then, science has always held an intrinsic beauty for him, both as a tool for eloquently describing the natural world, and as an avenue to enlightenment. This realization become further solidified during his six year long academic career through both his classes and independent research. He has experience with a wide range of scientific disciplines at institutions such as Caltech, JPL, and USC. He constantly found himself being drawn back to physics to get the full story, guide his intuition, and rapidly develop prowess in every course he took. Given how fundamental physics is, he applied its core principles and thought process to every significant program he has been involved in.

Leveraging prior experience as a Systems Engineer and Project Manager in a previous year-long Capstone Project with the Glendale Robotics Academy, Skyler utilized his background in engineering and scientific knowledge to direct team action. His greatest strengths are his ability to break down problems into its fundamental constituents; rapidly identify new problems that emerge and model them; and develop effective tactics to form an elegant and efficient solution. This quick thinking and ability to articulate the problem space is invaluable in a team environment. It allows for a rapid and parallelizable deconstruction of potential action-plans and cost-benefit analysis.

In addition to thinking on his feet, Skyler has a powerful command of his writing, and is an effective editor who is able to condense ideas into their fundamental basis, preserve or augment intended tone, and refine other peoples ideas to communicate new dynamics based on previous material. This command of writing is not limited to editting, and he is capable of quickly sketching out an articulate form of a new idea in typeface, or communicating the deliberations of a group discussion into bite-sized action plans. He often utilizes the afforementioned mental machinery to also communicate complex ideas in verbal form.

Using these powerful analytical skills and the communication that arises from it, Skyler has returned to his leadership roots in this venture with his Capstone Team, seeking to fuel entrepreneurial pursuits with the insights gleamed in the development of the Carma system.
