Jonathan Young

Department / Program:
Electrical Engineering

Jonathan Young is a fourth year electrical engineer interested in ASIC design and board design. He is also eager to exercise his communication skills in the business side of engineering, especially after taking courses with the UCSB Technology Management Program and his involvement with Dermachill, a finalist group of the UCSB New Venture Competition 2016. He was also an undergraduate teaching assistant for ECE5 (sponsored by Northrop Grumman), a project-based course geared towards exposing freshmen to the wonderful world of Arduino and basic electronics.

Jon hopes to one day combine his passion for art and music with his technical expertise. His many hobbies and interests are what allow him to think beyond convention; creativity is one of his strengths that he uses to solve problems, related to engineering or not.
