Bio

Erinn is a senior mechanical engineering student graduating with honors in Spring of 2017. After graduating she will continue at UCSB as a Master's student in the BS/MS 5-year program for mechanical engineering. This summer she will be an intern at Northrop Grumman with the aerospace manufacturing engineering team. Erinn has experience in a range of engineering disciplines and applications, where she has developed skills in design, prototyping, manufacturing, and fabrication.

Erinn was a leader of the UCSB Mini Baja team her sophomore year. In this role she primarily managed the redesign of the frame for the vehicle and communicated with local sponsors to get funding for competition. In another project, Erinn helped design, prototype, and build an autonomous quad copter that retrieved water samples at specific depths and locations offshore to be analyzed by the marine science department. She also wanted to get a glimpse into the biomedical field through an internship in the manufacturing department of Karl Storz Endoscopy. She made engineering models and drawings for new tooling, as well as implemented engineering changes on existing parts. She also assisted with the design and relocation of a new production plant.

In addition to her passion for engineering, Erinn enjoys spending her time on many different extra-curriculars. She loves to pass on the support and excitement she has found in the field of engineering to the next generation through various STEM outreach events with school kids. When she isn't studying, she can be found rock climbing, SCUBA diving, backpacking, or (the most recent adventure) sailing. If she can't be found, Erinn is probably traveling the world to find new places to explore.
