Adam Chinn is a senior mechanical engineering major currently working as team leader of the Brakes team on the UCSB Hyperloop project. He is very interested in mechanical design and transportation technology. Following this passion, he chose to work on an independent research project with Professor Paden which explored transportation safety. He researched various foam composites and their reactions to impact using LS-Dynamics (finite element analysis software). Last summer he worked as a project engineer intern for a construction contracting group, managing dozens of subcontracting companies and personally led the closeout of 601 Main street, a major apartment complex. Currently, he works as a network infrastructure student technician for UCSB wireless internet, assisting in the installation and maintenance of on campus Wi-Fi hardware.
