Description

The traditional mechanical stethoscope remains a staple tool in medical professions and is valued for its simplicity and portability. However, it has major drawbacks such as inducing permanent hearing loss and relying on the user to pinpoint acoustic sources, which often leads to inconsistent and inaccurate diagnoses. Although modern electrical solutions do exist, many of them lack the implementation of multiple receivers as well as the ability to record for extended periods of time.

RAYO is an electronic alternative to the traditional stethoscope that will revolutionize cardiac auscultation. By implementing multiple receivers and using state-of-the-art signal processing techniques such as Beamforming, RAYO can output clean, defect-free signals that greatly reduce the risk of misdiagnosis. As it is a fully electrical system, RAYO also provides volume amplification control to reduce the likelihood of users receiving hearing loss and expandable storage capacity to allow for prolonged recording and data logging. Just like its mechanical predecessor, RAYO will be portable and accessible.
