Data on the go

Project Type:
Multidisciplinary
Year:
2019

Description

The FLIR zoomR streamlines the collection of large sets of driving data by recording both infrared and visible video. Our portable device magnetically attaches to the roof of any car and can be installed or removed in a matter of seconds.

The zoomR also allows the user to wirelessly communicate with the mounted camera through a simple button interface. With the push of a button, the user can change video modes and other functionalities in order to capture the desired video feed. By eliminating the use of wires, we create a simplified user experience where the driver can send commands as well as view what is being recorded.

Our product will improve the process of data collection used in many important applications such as training self driving car algorithms.
