The Ripeometer utilizes a nondestructive method of determining the ripeness of an avocado at various stages of its life using impact response. Current industry standards measure ripeness slowly, by hand, which is not a quantitative and reliable method. The Ripeometer reduces operator variability and increases throughput while accurately determining the ripeness of the avocado. Avocados have grown in popularity over the years and the Ripeometer will greatly enhance the industry’s and consumer’s experience when selling and purchasing avocados.
