Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a permanent motor function disorder that affects 10,000 new infants every year. CP is best treated during infancy to leverage increased neuroplasticity but is undertreated due to insurance restrictions and limited therapist availability. We designed FitNest, a revolutionary in-home therapy system, to provide safe, accessible, and effective physical therapy to these infants. FitNest stimulates core muscle use and development using a tilting platform that mimics exercise ball therapy performed by a professional therapist. Furthermore, an interactive button panel and overhead toy mobile enhance development of neck, trunk, and arm muscles, as well as sight and touch senses. Together, FitNest aims to increase access to pediatric physical therapy and help infants born with CP live a long and healthy life.
